We're Back!!
Chub Rub Hiking Club at Bronte Creek Provincial Park on March 10, 2024.
Members of the Chub Rub Hiking Club met on March 10th for our first hike of 2024. Actually, this was our first hike in a looong time! But, it feels so great to be back.
 
We had some returning hikers and some new hikers attend for this event. We meandered along the Ravine trail, did a loop of the Trillium Trail and wandered around the Maple Harvest Festival at Spruce Lane Farms. The hike was just over 5 km in total, and we had a beautiful sunny (though, windy) day to enjoy it.

Join us for an easy to moderate hike at Valens Lake Conservation Area on Saturday, March 30th, 2024. 
 

We will meet at Group Picnic Area 2, near the Beach Store. We will hike the Boardwalk Trail, going counter clockwise around the lake. This is a 3.2 km trail and is mostly flat, with some hills. There are some areas with uneven footing. The Boardwalk trail features several boardwalks over marshlands as well as a fishing bridge that crosses the lake. Near the end of the trail, we will stop by the Lookout tower to take in the great views (optional). Full hike details can be found HERE.

 

The difficulty of this trail considered "easy to moderate", and we will travel at a comfortable-leisurely pace, approximately 2-3 kms/hour. 

 

After the hike, you're welcome to join us for some hot chocolate, snacks and maybe a campfire!
